Enjoy enhanced savings rates and simple access to your accounts through online or phone banking – but the core of our service is the relationship with your private banker. 
 
Your dedicated Private Banker works on your behalf to tailor your banking experience, unlock access to preferential benefits, and create personal introductions to help meet the needs of you, your family, and your business.

The Private Current Account (v2) is available to open from 20 June 2023.

If you applied for a Private Current Account before this date, this account is no longer on sale. You can continue to use your account as usual. For more information, take a look at our Legal and Compliance page.

 

Private Current Account (v2): 

  • Premium Debit Card
  • Withdraw up to £1,500 daily from cash machines* 
  • No fees for using your debit card to withdraw cash and make payments anywhere outside the UK†
  • Access to 10,000 branches in 11 countries 
  • Monthly interest of 3.00% AER / 2.96% gross** (variable) on balances up to £25,000. Rates subject to change
  • £5 monthly fee to maintain the account
  • Pay in at least £1,500 a month and set up two or more active direct debits 
  • £150 when you switch to the Private Current Account (v2) (T&Cs apply)

 

* Not all cash machines allow you to withdraw £1,500 in one transaction so you may need to take out your money in multiple transactions. 
† The 0% foreign conversion fee is applied 3 working days after you’ve opened or transferred to the Private Current Account (v2). If you use your debit card outside the UK before then, the standard foreign currency conversion fee of 2.95% will apply. This fee is non-refundable. Local banks may charge their own fees when you use one of their cash machines and you should make sure you understand what these are before making a withdrawal. 
**AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest rate would be if we paid interest and added it to your account each year.
The gross rate is the interest rate we pay where no income tax has been deducted. Rates may change and we pay interest each month.
